GCash and PSA Make Account Verification Easier and Faster with National ID eVerify Integration
To advance financial inclusion in the Philippines, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and top mobile wallet app GCash have partnered to simplify account verification by integrating the National ID eVerify system.
This collaboration allows Filipinos to verify their GCash accounts using their National ID—whether in physical, paper, or digital form—making it easier to access secure financial services. The initiative supports the government’s ongoing efforts to broaden financial access through the National ID, which over 92 million Filipinos have already registered for, with more than 50 million IDs delivered.
By integrating eVerify directly into the GCash app, users can now quickly and securely complete identity verification, enhancing access to financial tools and services. GCash remains the country’s largest mobile wallet, used by 8 out of 10 Filipinos—a strong indicator of its impact on digital finance.
> “The National ID ensures secure, inclusive, and seamless transactions,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD. “Its integration into platforms like GCash accelerates onboarding, boosts trust, and brings more Filipinos into the formal financial system.”
Ren-Ren Reyes, President and CEO of G-Xchange, Inc., emphasized the significance of the partnership:
> “By enabling National ID-based verification, we remove barriers and make digital finance accessible to more Filipinos. This is a major step forward in our mission to empower every Filipino through safe and reliable financial services.”
Through eVerify, GCash streamlines the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, strengthens fraud prevention, and ensures accurate identity checks—paving the way for faster, safer, and more inclusive digital transactions.
